Rise Technical Recruitment: Supporting Ex-Forces and Veterans
At Rise Technical, we work with engineers and technical professionals across engineering, energy, construction and technology. As part of our We Rise Together commitment, our Ex-Forces initiative better supports veterans transitioning into civilian careers.
This is built around long-term support, meaningful partnerships and a clear commitment to championing ex-forces candidates within the recruitment process.
Why our commitment to Ex-Forces Matters
In 2025 we launched an information pack to our client and candidate network, which resulted in a high volume of engagement. The level of response highlighted a clear need for structured support, better signposting, and stronger advocacy within the recruitment market.
Many individuals leaving the armed forces bring highly transferable skills, strong leadership capability and a proven work ethic. However, navigating the move into civilian employment can still present challenges. Our aim is to remove unnecessary barriers and improve outcomes for ex-forces candidates and the employers hiring them.
Our Partner Organisations
A key part of the initiative is working closely with specialist organisations already supporting the armed forces community.
Forces Employment Charity (FEC): FEC provides lifelong support to anyone who has left the forces, whether recently or historically. Their services focus on helping individuals remain in work long-term, including access to mentoring schemes.
SSAFA: SSAFA supports service leavers with physical, emotional and welfare needs. Their work plays an important role in helping individuals stabilise and prepare for sustainable civilian employment.
Career Transition Partnership (CTP): CTP is a Ministry of Defence-funded programme supporting service leavers into employment. Support is tailored based on length of service and includes training courses, employer partnerships and a dedicated job board.
These partnerships allow us to ensure candidates are properly supported both before and after placement.
What We Are Doing at Rise Technical
Our Ex-Forces Initiative focuses on three core actions: champion, signpost and recruit.
· Championing ex-forces candidates internally by sharing placement success stories and raising awareness across our teams
· Promoting relevant content externally, including on LinkedIn, to support education and visibility
· Encouraging clients to actively consider ex-forces candidates within their hiring strategies
· Referring candidates to appropriate partner organisations such as FEC, SSAFA and CTP
· Providing information packs to both clients and candidates to support informed decision-making
The goal is not only to place candidates into roles, but to help build sustainable, long-term careers.
Our Commitment Through the Armed Forces Covenant
As part of this initiative, Rise Technical is committed to supporting veterans through the Armed Forces Covenant. This reflects our intention to act fairly, remove disadvantage where possible, and promote positive employment outcomes for those who have served.
Beyond recruitment, this commitment strengthens our relationship with the wider armed forces community and reinforces our responsibility as an employer and recruitment partner.
Looking Ahead
We will be sharing further information packs and resources with clients and candidates as the initiative develops.
For Rise, this is a long-term commitment, not a one-off campaign.
